Caladan is the world where my first trilogy starts. Other stories will also at least start on Caladan. There are other worlds, realms, and universes found in these stories. More about them is still to come. Caladan is a world much larger than earth. It does have a comparable atmosphere. Even though Caladan is larger, the days and nights are similar in length. There are two moons in orbit around Caladan. Though different races and peoples have different names for them, the common language names are Bellum and Pan. Bellum is the furthest moon from Caladan that casts a silvery light, When it is full, it is bright enough to cast shadows with as much detail as under the sun. Pan is the other moon. It is bigger and much closer. when it is full, it almost takes up the entire night sky. It has a blue-green  appearance. It is thought that there is life on this moon, though none have been able to travel to it, even with magic. The stars are not the same as Earth, as this world spins in another universe. The constellations are much different in the skies above Caladan. The sun is very similar to our sun. The light it provides is the same. Except for around the equator, Caladan is a little cooler than earth. The equator is comparable to Earth for seasonal temperatures.

The first thing to know about Caladan is its history. In a time long past, Caladan was a magic free world. No magic could be used or created on Caladan. It was comparable to Earth except with no magic possible. According to the Travelers, an ancient people who came to Caladan to save their society, a great cataclysm happened that change the face of the world. A meteor with a strange ore made a glancing hit on Caladan, leaving a couple large fragments behind. Many things changed about the world, including the ore from the meteor infusing an incredible amount of magical energy to the very core of the planet.

The face of Caladan was changed tremendously and magic could now be used and created. The Travelers decided to talk to the dragons that resided in a different realm and they agreed to allow a portal from their realm to Caladan. This allowed dragon essence to be added to the world of Caladan. Magic that was needed for elves and dwarves to survive. The dragons would manage the portal, not allowing any to enter their realm, though they could come to Caladan.

The Travelers could create portals to other realms and worlds as long as they had been there first. Their archives had information about several worlds that had been explored for several hundreds of millennia. During their journey following the meteor, they encountered even more worlds where the inhabitants needed help to survive. In some cases, their worlds were dying, in others, their resources couldn't keep up with the population growth. They brought elves, dwarves, Vreykenin, Hadish, Shifters, and several more species to populate Caladan. After finishing this, the Travelers decided to let the people of the world develop on their own. Some races migrated to Caladan on their own. Some creatures mutated into fierce predators after the cataclysm.

Deadly Javelins in the Breaks south of the Guard Wall, a four-legged cat-like predator, similar to a puma, but with tough scales that could thwart all but the best blades, a single horn that would be very sharp, two rows of sharp teeth, and claws that were extremely deadly, especially with the strength of their body behind them. Yethorin, a distant relation to a Yeti, but much larger, more intelligent. Their hands can grip, but when they run, they use hands and feet and are very fast. They live in the frozen north of Caladan, across the Icy Plains in the Glass Mountains.

To find out more about the Caladan and the Great Cataclysm, you will need to read the Silver Magic Chronicles, the first trilogy set on Caladan. There will be more adventures that will open up the pathways to other worlds and realms. I will add detail here as my my imagination creates new worlds to explore and the need of adventurers to reveal their wonders.
